How do I avoid being Used and Abused?

Image

Stop being victims of people taking advantage of you

Life is Beautiful! You live life only once. Nobody can live your Life except You then Why waste it on being victims of people using you in one or the other way.

It hurts badly, right? When you come to know that the person you value the most is taking advantage of you.

Do you know the difference between being NICE and Too NICE?

Being NICE is an alluring human trait, but being too nice can have a long-lasting negative impact on one’s life. People often mistake the word “HELP”. They try to be overly nice by helping others and become a target of emotional and physical abuse. They run at the call of everyone by keeping their personal needs aside and thus are easily disrespected for being too kind.

Know how to be wise with the people who take advantage of your kindness with the following tips:

  • Be consistent and set boundaries: Set your limits on what you can or can’t do for others. Make a note of all your personal boundaries. Pen down what makes you feel uncomfortable, hurt and disrespected so that when somebody gets to that limit next time, you cease offering your generosity to them.

  • Speak up and learn to say No: It’s hard for people who practice generosity to say ‘NO’. When people know that you are generous, they will be constantly at the back of you for their endless needs. Know that you and only you have control over your life and not others. Identify such people and don’t give yourself into their manipulative games. You too have your own life and let them know it. Never underestimate yourself by saying you have been selfish for saying ‘No’. You have the choice and the power to say no to those who are ready to abuse you for your kindness.

  • Be nice but assertive and prudent: Be confident and strong when you interact with the people who take advantage of you. Don’t make any room for them to shake your confidence but let your words be up to the point and simple. People deceive easily by quickly interpreting your body language, so act wisely and don’t let them take control of your situation.

  • Protect your integrity: There are times when the other person doesn’t want to negotiate or compromise but have the power over the situation, don’t feel bad, don’t yell, rant, or rave to gain the power. Be the person with integrity while you take the higher road the things will fall on your side.

  • Forgive to have peace of mind: We all are hurt and wounded by others at some point in life. We believe a myth that people don’t deserve our forgiveness and we bear a lot of grudge and bitterness. Forgiveness is not for others but us. Holding onto the anger will give us only pain. Forgiving the other person helps you to release the pain, grudge, and bitterness but don’t be blind of your past. Forgive to be a better person.

  • Eliminate toxic people You might have gone through this situation!!!Few people use you for their needs but are unwilling to take up the responsibility neither do they change their behavior. When you come to know this truth of being used, abused repeatedly, you get tired and feel powerless to do anything.

Don’t worry! We learn lessons from old mistakes.

“It’s fine to celebrate success but it is important to heed the lessons of failure”- Bill Gates

Practice Discernment between good and bad in life. Next time when you feel somebody is expecting too much from you. Take a pause; decide on how to handle such people. Remember we can’t change others the way they behave but we always have power over our choices. It’s better to eliminate such toxic people to make a better tomorrow.

Conclusion

Surround yourself with positive people. Good friends are like gems in this life’s journey. Don’t be afraid to make friends until you know they are genuine. They’re always there beside you to guide and lead you in the right path.

Top 10 Tips to Keep in Mind While Shopping Online

Online shopping is one of the most loved shopping modes in today’s world. The discounts and bargains on online shopping are humongous. The shopping is secure and shipping is fast. Shopping has become easy and convenient for consumers. On top of that, some online stores offer further discounts by giving out offers on their products like Flipkart offers. Common mistakes can happen while shopping online and can be avoided by following some tips that are mentioned below:

1. Research must be done Beforehand

People usually get taken in by flashy advertising and often end up clicking the wrong buttons that lead them to fake websites that get their payment details and steal their money.

Also, sometimes you are manipulated with some website advertisements that will lead you to spend way too much money on a product.

If you already have an idea of what you want, check out a few websites and take note of the prices of the items you want, that way when a holiday sale comes around you can compare prices and see if you are actually getting a deal.

2. Make sure the Website is Secure

You are obviously going to share your private, personal information such as your address and credit card number with a company website, so be sure that your information is protected by only shopping from secure websites. To know that the website is secure, look out for two things. First, the address has to have an https prefix in the URL bar and the “s” in the https signifies that the website is secure and your information will remain private. Some websites have a small lock symbol that ensures security.

3. Check out a Website’s Online Review

To learn about the experience you are going to have when you buy from a specific website, read the reviews of other customers from a well-known review site. The overall rating of the website important. Look into both the good and the bad reviews. Sometimes a good company can still get some negative review because mistakes happen, but if you see that a large number of reviews are in favour of that company then go for it. If something does go wrong with your order, you’ll want to know they will clear up the issue quickly.

4. Find them on Social Media

Social media sites like Twitter, Facebook are mainly being used as a platform to showcase their websites to the customers. Check out the website on the social media and go and get lots of information about the company and see how they work and what are the pros and cons of buying from them.

5. Look for a way to Contact the Company

Before buying any product from a website, make sure that you find a contact number or way like email or customer inquiries so that if needed you can contact them. Also, it’s a good rule of thumb to find the company’s legitimate physical location with real address to know about their trueness. Be aware that if you choose a live chat option for

customer assistance, you may be chatting with a robot, so make sure that your questions are fully answered and it’s best to document the chat. One should be aware of few companies that can be contacted only via contact forms.

6. Use Strong Passwords

When you are banking or shopping online it is of utmost importance that you fix your account with an uncrackable password. During any festive season when online shopping is at its peak people usually tend to forget the passwords or and easily be hacked. So creating a unique password for your e-commerce site is very important.

7. Know the Exchange and Return Policies

Learn and know about the stated exchange and return policies because after the product is delivered and you are not satisfied with the product you obviously cannot just throw it out. You would then want to either return it or exchange it. Make sure the policies are clearly mentioned and that you find them acceptable. The company must

also clearly state the shipping charges and any other extra fees like the tax, handling fees, etc before the purchase is being made.

8. Payment Methods and Credit Cards

The safest way to pay for the online transactions is credit cards. The credit card company has a record when you pay through them. This can protect you from unauthorized charges on your account. Also, make sure to check your credit card statements regularly to ensure there are no odd charges on your account. Some websites that provide bargains like Amazon offers are legit and must be opted.

9. Inspect Purchase Upon Delivery

After you have made the purchase, take a screenshot or print off the confirmation page details in case an issue arises. If something goes wrong with the order, having proper records will make it easier to resolve the problem. Once the delivery arrives, inspect it immediately to ensure your order is correct, complete, and that there is no damage. If

something is wrong, take photos as evidence and contact the company as soon as possible.

10. Don’t Click on Fake Ecards

Festive electronic greetings are welcomed by most people, but few of them can spread viruses. If you are not sure of an eCard to make sure you delete it and do not click on the link that might make you end up in a spam.

Shopping online is a great way to save time and avoid the long lines at the cash counter and fitting rooms. Now you can be aware while online shopping next time. You can now have a great experience shopping and on top of that avail the deal breaking jabong coupons for offers like never before.
